On 14 June EMN Lithuania will organise a conference “Initiatives to support the integration of refugees from Ukraine”, which takes place in Vilnius and online.

The war in Ukraine triggered an unprecedented humanitarian crisis that reverberated in all of Europe. Although Lithuania does not have an external border with Ukraine, its authorities and civil society actively work to provide refuge and the necessary support for Ukrainian and third-country nationals fleeing the war.

Taking into consideration the current situation and a clear need for future solutions, EMN Lithuania organizes a conference to not only discuss the actions taken by the governments but also shed light on the spontaneous initiatives coming from the communities, NGOs, and the private sector both in Lithuania and in other states receiving refugees from Ukraine. During the conference, participants will cover topics related to housing, labor market integration and education.

The conference is planned as a hybrid event that will be streamed online and attended in person. We expect to have participants from Lithuania and other EMN member and observer countries, including representatives from governmental institutions, NGOs, and private initiatives.
